Dhon’s First Post

This is Dhon’s first blog post, of course I am writing this for him until he is able to contribute more. Once he is able to communicate in the slightest I plan asking him for his input on these blog posts. I plan to write it in the lens of Dhon as best as I can. So here is the first one.

  • Dhon is so strong mentally and physically to be going through everything he has in the past 7 months. Everyday he wakes up in a condition you know that is almost complete opposite of who Dhon is as a person. He loves to socialize and is an active body. This could seem so defeating for him but he finds a reason to wake up everyday, makes sure to cooperate with the staff to get his needs met and does what ever it takes to give it his all for his rehab and recovery. Many staff and family have noticed a determined demeanor in Dhon’s expressions recently. I can only begin to scratch the surface of imagining what Dhon is going through. He is not only unable to enjoy the things he usually would, but is not even able to comfortably do the things most humans take for granted like using the bathroom, eating, brushing his teeth etc. Shoot most of the decisions each day are made for him. We do our best to make the right ones for him but who knows. Dhon does rehab like its sports practice he’s training multiple times a day nearly everyday of the week. What’s new?

  • It has been a blessing to experience this growth in my younger brother. I am proud of him each day. I know he could use the encouragement and company, so come out and see Dhon yourselves!
