Last week in Oregon for awhile

As many of you heard the amazing news. Dhon got accepted into Madonna Rehabilitation. A specialized brain rehab center in Omaha, Nebraska. He flew there Monday, January 27th!

It is so exciting that he will get more resources to aide him in his recovery journey. We are so thankful for everyone who has helped in one way or another to help get Dhon to this monumental transition in his recovery.

Madonna will have a more full team of rehab specialists working with Dhon on the daily. He will receive about 5 times the amount of rehab he was receiving while in Oregon. And on top of that he has two sisters and our mom is in Nebraska. With many of our family only a few hours of a drive away in Minnesota. All very awesome things.

Of course there is also the other side of things where I watched the many lives that Dhon touched before and after his accident have to say goodbye for Dhon, atleast for now. Amongst some of the hardest goodbyes were his group home staff. The way they cared for Dhon in his most vulvernable state will never be forgotten, we are excited to still stay in touch with the staff throughout his time at Madonna. His last night in Oregon, he spent a typical night with his core group of boys who stayed up late with him to say goodbye the day he flew.

It has been a wild week to say the least. Dhon is safe in Omaha and has already began to hit the ground running with a 5am (Oregon time) workout today. He crushed the day and is excited for the grind.
